Default Windows XP Command Prompt Commands

Here is a list of useful commands for the command prompt in Windows XP (Note: availability may vary between versions, these are on Windows XP Professional x64 edition)

System Managment:
Service Control Manager - sc
Registry Editor/Viewer - reg
Scheduled Tasks Manager - schtasks
Show Windows Version - ver
Show Various OS Info - gettype

Disk Managment:
File System Manager - fsutil
Defragment Disk - defrag
Check disk Consistency - chkdsk
Partition Disk - diskpart
Format Disk - format
Convert FAT to NTFS - convert
Manage Mount Points - mountvol
Change Drive Label - label
Check Free Space - freedisk
Copy contents of floppy disk to another - diskcopy

Process Management:
View Processes - qprocess
Kill Processes - tskill

Network:
Network Configuration (Change IP, dns, firewall,etc.) - netsh
Network Interface Configuration - ipconfig
Network Statistics and Connections - netstat
Routing Configuration - route
Get MAC Addresses - getmac
ARP Configuration - arp
Ping Utility - ping
Trace Route - tracert
Trace route and ping each host - pathping
Configure HTTP Proxy - proxycfg

Network Services:
FTP Client - ftp
Telnet Client - telnet
RSH Client (execute commands on a remote system through a shell) - rsh
Remote Copy - rcp
Remote Execute - rexec
Finger Client - finger

File Manipulation:
Show Directory Contents - dir
Change Working Directory - chdir
Display File Location - where
Display file one screen at a time - more
Search for text in file or files - find
Search for strings in files - findstr
Copy file - copy
Copy file (alternate - more features) - xcopy
Cut file - move
Delete file - del
Command Line Text Editor - edit
Print file - print

Shell Utilities:
Print String - echo
Display Current Username - whoami
