    Default Tweak your XP

How to increase system boot speed

    1. Start>run> and type ''regedit''

    2. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/ SYSTEM / CurrentControlSet / Control / Session Manager / Memory Managment / PrefetchParameters / EnablePrefetcher.

    3. Double click on "Enableprefetcher"

    4. Past 1 in Value Date, and Hexadecimal most be on(enable)

Then restart the pc and and look at the blue lines again. See how many times or how fast it goes? Most of the time it just quickly passes that part.

    RUN > regedit

    *HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Dfrg > BootOptimizeFunction

    Enable set to Y

    *HKEY_CURRENT_USER > CONTROL PANEL > DESKTOP

    AutoEndTasks set to 1
    WaitToKillAppTimeout set to 1000 - 2000
    HungAppTimeout set to 1000 - 2000

    *HKEY_USERS > .DEFAULT > CONTROL PANEL > DESKTOP

    AutoEndTasks set to 1
    WaitToKillAppTimeout set to 1000 - 2000
    HungAppTimeout set to 1000 - 2000

    *HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > CURRENTCONTROLSET > CONTROL

    WaitToKillAppTimeout set to 1000 - 2000

Thanks for this tip, I'll have to see if it works. I think it will though, I've heard of mates doing something similar to this, so I guess this is what they were doing.

    Once again, thanks

it does work for me though. i can boot and restart faster than the regular settings in my regedit. This doesn't destroy your system so its safe to try it out.

That's what I was saying - I havn't tried it yet. I said that I was confident that it would work as I knew of it working for others

    Hope this clears it up.
