Post Problem with Guest user account....

I am running an Internet Cafe. Inorder to prevent visitors from accessing data from other systems, I turned on the Guest account for internet users. I have a printer installed in the server. From Guest account, printer is not accessible. For printing the data needed by visitors, now I have to first shift to the administrator account and then print the file. How can I just enable the guest to allow printing too.... or, is there any way to disable access to network computers for limited accounts leaving the ability to print using network printer?

You must have misconfigured the guest account, because with my years of experience with Windows XP, the guest account has always been able to print. As an administrator, you need to set the permissions and set up the printer for the guest account. In the printer settings, share the priner and check the box that says "Enable for all users". I would recommend however, that instead of a Guest account, create a Limited account. That should solve your problem. Setting permissions may be a pain right now, but it's worth it in the long term.

I just turned on the Guest account available and I don't know about the option in the printer settings to enable printer for all users. Thank for your help. It would be better to change to an limited account but I don't want the users to access other drives in network and protecting it with password is a tiring job.

I have one more problem. In Guest account, I can't change the power options. Being a Internet cafe, I want the monitor to be off after about 5 minutes of inactivity. In Guest account, I can't save the new profile and it stays the default 20 minutes. What should be done to change this. I changed the administrators power settings but it doesn't affect the Guest.

guest accounts will able to connect to printer just configure it properly, as always guest are limited account so they're shouldn't be able to connect to your server unless you've enabled the settings
