Default Vista 32bit to Windows 7 64bit. Can you clear something up for me :)?

I have an OEM version of Windows Vista 32bit installed on my laptop. I have just bought the full version of Windows 7 Home Premium (ie., it isn't an upgrade version). My question is, can I use Windows Easy Transfer to backup my files (from my Vista 32bit) in order to then reinstate them on a clean install of Windows 7 64bit? Thanks very much in advance!
