I wouldn't say that you need to wait until Service Pack 1 is released. It depends if you your hardware is capable to run it. If you have a nvidia graphics card and you are into playing games then I'd recommend you to wait until nVidia releases perfect drivers. Also you need to find out whether vista compatible drivers are available for all your hardware. If there aren't any issues regarding drivers then its safe to upgrade to Vista.

Most of the major bugs will be gone for SP1 (service pack 1). Similar scenario to XP.I'm waiting until SP1 before upgrading, personally.p.s. I've installed it, used it (several times) & it's nice....or will be when a few of those niggles are corrected.

I guess its safe enough to be used even at this stage Its not necessary that there have to be security bugs before service packs. Even if they are there may be more after service pack 1. Then would you keep waiting for service packs ? I am sure you can install service packs......... later.

you should wait for another 6 months or so.....by then there will be drivers that are fully compatible with it.......will have most of the bugs fixed and will be ok to use.For now stick to xp especially if you are into gaming because if you like games you should drop vista like a bad habit.I don't know a single game that has performed good on it...everything crashes...errors...bad display and lots others

Wait a year, or until the first sevice pack appears, if you want to be "safe". If you want to be daring and take a chance, do it now. It is nt going to "change" or "improve" anytime in the near future.

My Vista works great, but there are problems with Vista when wireless as I have just leart today, be sure to check with your ISP to see if they support Vista if you are using Laptop. AOL does not!

The rule of thumb with Mickeysoft software is after service pack 1. I have used it think irt's rubbish and have had users come to me asking how to go back to XP as they can't work cause all the software is incompatible.

I too have used vista, and I hate it so far. I think when SP1 comes out it will be better, but I probably won't upgrade, just get a new computer in general.
