Lightbulb Windows 7, what happened to vista?

Microsoft says that it is going to launch Windows 7. Then why on earth did they launch vista. Vista is rubbish anyway. Computer gizmos are saying that Windows Vista is a stripped down version of Windows Vista. And of course, those who bought vista have simply wasted their money. Hmmm. Picture this. New OS by Google == R.I.P. for Microsoft and Windows.

From my understanding, vista is the reason they are working on windows 7. Vista is not well liked by many. Yes they enhanced the looks but overall windows xp still performs well. I think most users were forced to get vista when they bought a new pc. Yes, I am sure Google will come out with an OS but you don't need to wait for Google when you have free linux based OS like Ubuntu that works really well.

Wait. What?

Anyway... I view Windows 7 worse than I view Vista at the moment. Vista has so many useless features nobody likes, needs, or uses. What's Microsoft's solution to the problem? Make more of them.

Can anyone point out the flaw in this logic? Because I sure can. I'll reserve further judgment until it's actually out, but right now, I think I'll be sticking with XP for a while yet.

Sorry for the typo in my earlier post. What I meant was "Windows 7 is the stripped down version of Windows Vista."
So as I was saying this Vista/Windows 7 case proves that Microsoft is trying it's level best to become from the "worse" to the "worst". Time is running out for them.

The hardware requirements that Vista needs to work made the case worse for it. Not much are willing to pay for both buying an OS and upgrading the system's hardware for the OS to work. Now people have alternatives to chose from. GNU/Linux distros are now available for almost all hardware configurations. So, Windows OS's now have to compete with Linux distros...

Compete with Linux? AHAHAHAHAHA, look, regardless of personal preference:

Desktop OS market share as of September, 2008:
Windows - 92.24%
Mac OS X - 5.33%
Linux - 1.12%
Other - 1.32%

Windows is nowhere near in competition with Linux, it's already won the race 10 times over and Linux hasn't even reached halfway.

Have anyone tried Solaris 10 from Sun Microsystems. If anyone has used it then please share your experience with me. I am thinking of trying it myself. Is it similar to Windows or UNIX? What are the minimum requirements to install Solaris 10? Please let me know the pros and cons of Solaris.

Windows 7 will be released halfway 2009.

And look at Apple. They release a new OS every 1,5 year or something like that. By the time Windows 7 comes, Vista will have been around for 3,5 years. So there.

And by the way, I'm very, very happy that I bought Vista. I love it.

Solaris 10 is an OS for server computing purpose not for daily usage as desktop.
and it's and enhanced version of their previous UNIX os. Solaris Unix usually used by Big ISP / telco provider. but due their share were eat-up by linux they finally make Open-Solaris, so people can use solaris for free
