Its not good to rush for anything. The Iphone at cost 499 dollars I thinks and within a month it came down to 299 dollars. And with the lauch of Iphone in India production increases and cost will come down for sure and they will also make the firmware much more better.

I hope so ! Maybe the launch in India also decreases the price in Germany, that would be wonderful. But the most annoying thing are the arrangements around the iphone, in Germany I have to pay 50 € a month. That is much too high for me!

Asus has come with better models now, and it's actually a pretty good buy.

As side laptop. Not as your main machine of course.

And Apple is ruining the iPhone. They made a good product, but have messed it up by blocking third parties to make software for it. That's the most cheap form of protection if you ask me.

Apple Released the SDK some days ago, every developer is now allowed to download the SDK and develop application for the iphone. And for those who do not have a iphone, Apple delivers an Emulator coming with the SDK so even those can start development. Call me a Apple Fan Boy (or better a Steve Jobs Fan boy) or what you want. But I think Apple develops really great products and I know no other company that do support developers that much. The most parts of Mac OS X.5 are available for developers on the Apple homepage, only the graphical user interface missing. Does Microsoft such things ?

Yes, they do. They don't make the user work in a closed infiroment (spelling.. I've got no idea..) where one can do practically nothing.

You can like anything about Apple, I don't really care. But saying that they give great developer support would be the last thing. They close everything and don't give the user freedom if you ask me.

I think Mac's aren't doing a good job in educating people. I'd almost say people who use them have less IT knowledge. Ask a mac user how to overclock their system. 195/200 won't have a clue. For the Windows platform users usually know much more.

Apple does incorporate certain features I wish MS did. They aren't really needed, but do make the use of the OS slightly more pleasant. As example, the calculator MS gives you is absolutely crap. Seriously, it's junk.

well basically the ASUS EEE PC is a little something of everything. It has a little feature of a laptop and a palm top. This gadgets has its use though. If you need to present something you can use this. But a descent laptop would be more useful im own opinion.

I do not want to reply on this part again, cause this has nothing to do with the Asus Eee PC, this off topic (also my fault I started the discussion about the iphone) ! If you want to you can open and new topic and then I am going to explain to you why I think Apple is much more user and developer friendly than Microsoft is.

if i am not mistaken, is this the small laptop? i saw this once on a local mall , and its design is so poor and somehow gives less impression to buyers.

Its good for internet browsing. This includes flash streaming, js, and even building websites on. It can cope with small apps too. But anything like final cut pro or second life then it will run out of battery fast! tiz why its free with 3G mobile brodband
