Default Upgrade your Zune to 40 GB

iPodMods disassembled Zune and gives us a howto tutorial. This is definitely a dont-do-this-at-home. They say you can even now take the Zune's 30 GB hard disk out and replace it with a 40 GB one

iPodMods have found that it is possible to use the new ZIF drives from Toshiba in Zune. The 40 GB model can replace the existing 30GB without problems. There is a problem with the 60GB and 80GB models.

Well, maybe in the first 3 weeks. After that I think Apple took it back again (generally after the Zune hype died down).

But seriously, there's no way the Zune can top an iPod, Creative or iRiver. That's just in comparisons from the spec sheet. Considering the Zune and iPod both display at the same LCD pixel resolution, the iPod has twice the storage of the Zune (and that includes the 40gb mod), has a more intuitive and simple interface, killer audio quality, and doesn't DRM every song during device transfer. Heck, even the iTunes Store will have the DRM gone eventually.

I'm not trying to purposely offer a rebuttal in favour of Apple, it's just i'm so sick of Microsoft in every aspect. Even when I serviced computers and devices for work, I had endless troubles with Microsoft and Microsoft Products. Apple just gave their products the advantage of being based on better kernels and code (software) and industrial design (hardware).

EDIT: I notice the initial post isn't around anymore...?

I have a creative Zen Nano (512 MB) and I am happy with it. I think i paid around $30 for it and so far everything is great. Sound quality is amazing and it keep be entertained. Now, you have to keep in mind Microsoft is huge and Apple on the other hand just kicked in. At this point, time will tell because if Apple replaced Microsoft in software and computers, you will encounter the same kind of problems with Apple and their products. You will start seeing viruses and daily attacks on computers that are using Apple software.

When companies are small , they provide amazing support and product, but when they get big, for some odd reason they loose their ability to provide same kind of services. Look at companies like charter, mercedes, walmart. I have personally dealt with charter and for last few years, all they have done is provide terrible service. Mercedes use to rank no 1 in customer satisfaction but decided to get really big and now they are no 10 or something. So, don't blame microsoft. I have a dell and i've been using it for 4 years now and so far no problems (knocking on wood). I also got a 300 mhz from dell and it still runs smooth on windows xp with 192 mb of ram. I think microsoft revolutionized the pc market and they will continue to dominate the pc market. I have no plans to buy apple products because I hate the fact that they don't have a right click and the scroll wheel on the mouse. I also hate the fact that when you are working in a program, all different options like (font, size etc) are separated from the typing window. The screen looks like a mess and it's really annoying. Other than that i see no difference between pc and mac. As long you got a antivirus, firewall, disk defrag and you don't download illegal crap and visit porno site, your pc should run fine without any problems.
