Since I haven't used Vista I didn't get the whole feel of the Windows 7, I think. I need more RAM to go and explore it.

I just had a look of it in my friends laptop and with that itself I decided not to use or recommend it. I felt it as a utter crap!

this is areal bad thing, with this OS thousands of rams and processors will be dumped and the industrial and technical pollution will increase. Win 7 needs duel corez and higher ramz. bad. single cores will be rotten tomatoes.

Yeah I too think that is correct. There is no need for such high configurations for a PC. For a home user who use PC to only see some movies and sent some mails what is the need for such a high end PC configuration.

That's the problem with Windows. Whenever a new version comes, it demands for more and more hardware resources. And people like me in the developing and under developed countries can't afford buying new hardware, along with buying the OS at a high rate.
I see.. Well, I can understand why people like you wouldn't like that, but for me, I really don't mind Windows being RAM hungry. It makes programs load faster (as it pre-fetches stuff) and with the cheap RAM prices these days, I really couldn't care less. Walks very nice and smooth.
Still haven't tried Windows 7, but I heard it actually runs pretty acceptable with 512mb, though I'd strongly advise having at least 1Gb.

Is the date of release of Windows 7 near? I heard it will be released in the first of May. Just curious to know about the response it gets...

Meh... I'm not all that happy with it.
To me, it's a leap backwards. Might be cause I never actually installed all drivers and stuff, but I just hate the new taskbar and the apple crappyness MS incorporated..
