Which CMS?

I'm thinking about using a content management system for my site, and I;m wondering what to use. I'm leaning toward Zikula, because it used to be PostNuke, and I liked PostNuke, but does anyone else have any suggestions? Thanks!

I use MkPortal because it integrates very nicely with forums or joomla is quite a good reputable one as well.

There is also Typo3 but the learning curve for this one is quite steep but it is very powerful.

The first two are very easy to use and well laid out and have the features most will need.

I like Joomla because it's flexible and they have tons of plugins, components for it. Wired mention Typo3 and I am telling you now its not easy to use. Typo3 is very advance and for a simple site you need to go with something like Joomla.

Yes that is definitely true.

Just put it there to see if anyone else was game enough to take up learning how to use Typo3. It isn't too bad if you have a lot of hours to waste learning how to use it though.

I do know of some massively large sites that use it and it is a good solution in this circumstance.

I think I really like Joomla... Do you know about any kind of advertisement plugins for it, though? I was looking through the advertisment plugins, but didn't really know what to use for just the standard ProfuseHost ads. Any ideas for what?

Yes true Typo3 is more powerful and it is definitely a lot more complex but is anyone willing to take up the challenge of learning it!!

If you learn it then you are invaluable to others who want to use it and will pay you for your experience in it like anything!

Well, I've already long decided on Joomla, because it seems easy, and can do quite a few things. I plan to, in the future, make a few custom components for myself, to facilitate some changes, and things.

Well, i've tried most of the free open source cms's out, including Joomla, Mambo, Php-Nuke, etc. I think i liked Joomla the most, apart from it's insanely annoying Administration interface. However, im not to keen on CMS's in general, i find them a bit too restricting.

joomla because it is so stright forward to use. One you start using it you'll never go back its so simple! Although for some reason the config.php is not editable! so you will have joomla as the meta tag (the admin didn't think it through when locking it down) which will cause google to pick that up!
