Default Video Card Update?

If i buy a PCI (normal pci NOT express) video card, how do I have it be the main graphics provider over my integrated video controller? And, Do i have to took up my moniter through the card?I am considering one of these cards ATI Diamond Stealth Radeon 9250NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200PNY Verto GeForce FX 5200 HIS Radeon 9250 Also, if that is good enough with Command and Conquer 3 then could you tell me, thanks!Well, i am on a budget and my current video controller is intregrated into my mainboard, so unless you specify how i use a ATP card then i will have to go with a PCI port.Oh By the way, my PCI slots look like PCI-e slots but both of my current cards (a wirelss adapter, a network bridge) look like they are basic PCI cards so im not sure if i have express or not, how would i find that?Sorry, i ment AGP not ATP, im not a good typer ^_^

I have C&C3 and my ATI radeon card is horrible. I heard great things about the NVidia. But you have to consider the memory on it. A 128MB is better than most 64MB. Youll have to remove the old card so this will be you new graphics controller because the card has a specific loaction on the motherboard.

This is from their website:ATI Radeon 9200 and 9250 PCI, NVIDIA Geforce 4 MX cards not supported. The FX 5200 cards will allow you to play...it you don't mind a slide show. You may have to disable your onboard graphics in your BIOS is it doesn't disable itself automatically when you insert your card.

You should be looking for an AGP card if you dont have a PCI-e port. Those cards should be good enough, but newer cards will give you much better performance (maybe look at Radeon 9800). And yup you connect the monitor through the card after putting it in.

Really, you just need a new motherboard. If you don't have PCI-E, there really isn't any other option. It would mean that your system is heavely outdated you know.

But if you insist, I think some brand made a AGP version of the HD 3850. You might want to check that out.
