I will always go for NVIDIA. THEY ARE THE BEST!!! For years i know this stuff & all my friends recommend this stuff to others & also the performance is BEST!!! Better than ATI or any other in the industry. Hope this NVIDIA comes out with new ones so to compete with the market.

I've been using NVidia for over 6 years now and never had a single problem with any of their cards. Most of your gamers and such will always recommend ATI and tell you how horrible NVidia cards are and how they will always mess up but I've never seen any of those problems before with the cards I've owned.

I think it is not worst bothering about ! Both companies do great work and I see no major difference. (worked with Nvidia for years and now run a ATI ) But the idea of having the same graphic card for over 5 years seems to be incredible to me. The development process is that fast, you need a new graphic card every 2 years if you want to play some games, that is what I think ! Regrades Snoop1990

I heard similar thing, SLI should be better than Crossover, but therefore Crossover is cheaper. So for those who need the ultra high performance Nvidia might be better, but in the middle class sector they are both the same.

I did some researches today and found an actual statistic from Tom's hardware. It shows both companies are nearly as good as each other. But Nvidia is a bit more focused on the high end sector (they offer more choices in that part). Here is the link ! (5th March 2008)

![]() Usually ATi is better for the mid-range segment and nVidia is almost always the king of the high-end. However, now nVidia is the best option if you don't want to spend a million on a graphic card too! 9600 GT and the 8800 GT. Both excellent cards. If you really have a small budget you could go for the HD3850 from ATi. Pretty good if you consider its low price. But seriously, 6 years is impossible for a computer. 3 is much more realistic. Anyway, if you want to do with it for such a long time then I think the 512 mb 8800 GTS would be the best option. Do NOT get the 640 mb version. That uses the old G80 chip, the 512 mb version uses the G92 chip which is much faster than the G80 used for the GTS. The 8800 Ultra is a good option too. You can get them for a reasonably cheap price these days (considering it's release price of course). |

But still high prices 250 $ for the 8800 GTS and 500 $ for the ultra ! ... I consider you should upgrade every two years and buy a small card that fits your needs. (for example spend 100 $ on a new graphic card)

Maybe in the US. Komplett (shop here) sells is for just 250 EUR. Same price as the G92 GTS. I ordered the 9800 GTX. Should be slightly faster than the Ultra. 460 USD, and for European standards that's actually pretty cheap. Well.. cheap for a high-end card.;
