Smile How to use MX Records in Profuse Host with co.cc domain

Ok, as we all know you can't manage your mx records using ProfuseHost at the moment. But you can use the Afraid.org service to create MX records for your domain (co.cc) for an email service (like Google Apps) for free!

1. Create an account.
Add a new account

2. After you activate your account, set your co.cc domain name servers to:
NS1.AFRAID.ORG
NS2.AFRAID.ORG
NS3.AFRAID.ORG
NS4.AFRAID.ORG
NOTE:
If you have purchased a first level domain (.com, .net, .org...) and you have the posibility of modify A and MX records, set the default nameservers... and modify the next steps records in your domain panel.

3. Then login to Afraid.org and go to the domains section. Then press add domain.

5. Now go to the Sub-Domains section and press Add on the domain you just added. Now set the MX records accordingly. The number before the colon is the priority and the string after the colon is the server.

6. After you add everything, you need to make an A record for the profusehost.net server. Now you need to get server IP address (duck ip is 208.87.241.95). Go to Convert Host Name to IP Address or Find IP address of a host - e.g. find IP address of host name of and enter your website hostname (eg. mysite.co.cc or mysite.com) and then you will get your ip.

7. Now edit A record and set it to the IP address.

8. Now back in the sub-domain section, edit the www. record and Forward it to a URL. Set the Redirect To to your domain without the www. at the beginning. Or set a A record with host o subdomain "www" and duck IP (208.87.241.95).

Now your MX records should be working with the mail server of your choice.
