I'm trying to place ad code in Joomla 1.5, and I am running into some problems. When I create the module, I use the custom HTML setting for a module. My output, however, is not a google ad, but some mangled HTML links that didn't get parsed, like this:

<a href='http://ads2.psychz.net/www/delivery/prock.php?n=a754aedd&cb=INSERT_RANDOM_NUMBER_H ERE' target='_blank'><img src='http://ads2.psychz.net/www/delivery/proavw.php?zoneid=9&n=a754aedd' border='0' alt='' /></a>

In the site, there is a line break between the a part of the link tag and the href part. I think that it is an issue with Joomla's editor, because it is somehow word-wrapping. Any Ideas?

1. Login to your Mambo Admin Area.
2. Click on site > global configuration and disable WYSIWYG editor
3. Click Modules > site modules
4. Click New
5. For Title - Ads, Show Title - No, Position - right, Access Level - Public, Published - Yes
6. For content, just copy paste the code in the box
7. On right, select "All" for menu item.
8. Click save

Make sure you disable the editor before you paste any code. After the code is saved, you can enable your WYSIWYG editor. If you ever need to edit the ad code again, always disable the editor before making any changes.

Nope... Doesn't work. I turned off the WYSIWYG editor, and it still refuses to work correctly. By the way, I using the 1.5 version of Joomla.

We didn't test this with 1.5 yet. I'll have to test this with Joomla 1.5 and I'll post here soon with my results.

I've gotten it working now. I'll post a tutorial some time. The key is that the advertisements have to be in a banner module rather than a normal custom HTML module.
