Default Suggestions for New Forum Areas

Hi,
I have applied to change my package to Post for Host, because I don't like the look of the ads on my business site...however although I thnk Post for Host is a great deal, I find myself wondering what areas of the forum I will be posting in.

A lot of the forum seems geared to young people, and to technology (cell phones, computers etc) and while those are topics that I'm sure a lot of people are interested in, especially people who have their own websites--I would like to see some other areas available. I myself find computers a boring topic and I haven't had time to play video games for years now.

Specifically, I would like to see a section related to Family, for those Profuse Host members who are old enough to have kids and who might like to talk about parenting issues...I have three kids myself and I'm sure I can't be the only one.

It would also be nice to see a section for discussing media--like books, music, movies, television etc. I'm sure everyone would have something to say here even if everyone likes different things.

Well, those are my ideas. Does anyone agree with me?

Hmm, looks like maybe no one agrees with me!

I can't be the only one here who doesn't enjoy talking about computers and cell phones. Heck, I don't even own a cell phone, and I never have. I have a regular old land phone line and that's it...and this works just fine for me, along with my DSL connection of course.

Are there any members out there like me, who are a bit on the older side, who maybe even have kids, who would like to talk about something a little more "grown up" than video games and cell phones?

I used to be into video games in my youth...well into my early 20s. I loved the old Playstation and the computer games of the time...but those days are long in the past for me. With three kids, a husband, and a home business, there's no way I have time to spend an evening playing Roller Coaster Tycoon anymore. :P

Most of the users are in their 20's but we do have sections that focuses on relationships, health, politics etc. If we do create a family section, I am sure it will stay empty for most of the time. You are always welcome to start your topic in the general discussion section of the forum.

I think that those topics like John has suggested would be great to start off in the general category and then if they are popular they can then gain their own sections and categories.

I am sure a section on Books and movies would be a popular one!

I agree, I really think a section for books and movies would be a good idea as just about everyone could have something to add there. Everyone likes movies, even if we might like different kinds. Lots of discussion potential there.

Hmm i don't like your suggestions at all, the technical areas exist because most people who use this place are into that kind of stuff. If you want a forum for family this isn't the right place for you.

I don't want a forum for family, but my package is Post for Host so I was just trying to think of ways I could post more in this forum. I thought maybe there were others who were here simply because they needed hosting for their business website, not because they were into technical stuff. No harm in asking, right?

Definetely a section on Books would be a great and the forum topics will never be empty.

This would also help book lovers review books
