Xbox 360 Elite or Playstation 3 Slim?

I want to buy a console for myself but don't know which one to get. * PLEASE ONLY ANSWER IF YOU OWN BOTH CONSOLES. AND PLEASE NO FANBOYS * Please base your answers not solely on one console try to give me the pros and cons of both, and then give me your opinion.

used to own both but i traded in the PS3 (not slim but it still counts) it all goes down to the shear number of games available for the 360. ps3 seems to only concentrate on racing/sport games which is really dont like. the 360 on the other hand has a very good variety of everything.
The only reason i would say get a PS3 over an xbox is if the blu-ray is what you're interested in. personally i dont much care is the quality is a few megapixels better. also i have to admit the PS3 is better looking and quieter. but the 360 wins hands down for game variety and ease of use.

honestly...get the system that most of your friends have so you can play live with them...both systems are basically the same and your prolly just going to be playing games 99.9% of the time with them...so if you want to have the most fun from buying a console get the one that you can play with your friends on

I don't need to own both consoles. If your sensible you will go for the playstation. Both systems are very good, but playstation has more on it which (if x-box had the same) would be loads more expensive, and you have to pay £40 per year to go online.
It's really a no-brainer, the ps will cost you a lot less in the long run
