Default New Interstitials Ads

We are currently testing Interstitials ad format on our sites. Basically these are full page pop up type ads that a user will see once every 24 hours. We currently don't know how they will perform on our network. I personally hate these kind of ads but due to losses we suffered in the recent months, we had make this move. We already know that users hate any kind of full page ads or any kind of inline ads. So, please feel free to post your opinion here.

(Leaving aside accessibility issues, like a user that can't handle a mouse will have a hard time closing the ad window)

The content seems to be mainly multimedia? When I close the ad window, the soundtrack still plays on.

And I get the ad EVERY TIME I visit a page. Don't know if that's your code's fault of Drupal's cache's.

The ads are based on cookies and if you delete your cookies everytime you will see the ads everytime you visit the website. We only show the multimedia based ads once every 24 hours. If you delete your cookies, the system thinks you are a different user and will serve the multimedia content.

These ads are very annoying and increase the amount of bandwidth required to view my, our, site(s).

They take away from the usability I spend a lot of time making your ads fit within the style of my site and you reference my site as a good example of non-auto ads.

I find that this was not sent as a general mail out is wrong as well as it affects the presentation of sites quite profoundly.

Hello John,
I know Free Webhosting also need financial support to get everything up and running. Personally, I dont mind. but I hope you provide the ads code so it wont pop-up at some place so it overlap with website content. Although the ads can be closed (like Geocities / YahooMail) but I think it is too big. and 1 more, please consider not to use multimedia (video) ads due to it size, it may slowdown visitor access the website if they're on slower network.

okay i'll have those ads disabled on all sites. sorry if they caused any slow loading or annoyance to your site visitors. The ads should be gone within next 24 hours. If you still see them on your site, please post here.

Hello John,
if you think you want to make money
I would suggest you to start your own small Ad Network like OpenAds MMM
Then put the ad code like IFRAME or any kind of ad script that the publisher ie: the free hosting account holder wishes to publish

You can regulate the Ads & also track them.
So you earn more when they place it in places of much interest.

How about this

These ads are quite annoying and disrupt usability but if you have to then I would allow it as long as you still offer the post to get them turned off.

Personally I find ads very distracting and annoying.

However, I am happy to accept them if they mean that hosting etc is free.
I hope the "Post For Host" package remains.
