    Default Renew IP

I am now using ADSL connection with dynamic IP. For some reasons I want to renew my IP after 10 or 15 minutes. Any Idea to get a new IP address without disconnecting and connecting again.

You mean to avoid the download limit of sites like rapidshare? Changing your proxy should work. I've never tried it myself though, and there is some risk you take.

Can you explain how its has to be done. I tried something which was seen on a blog but not worked for me. Currently I disconnect and reconnect the connection. It takes me around 15 seconds or so. Not prob at all. What really makes the problem is the log of the usage. It become too lengthly.

To change proxy, just change the name of the site you use. Type "free proxy" (without quotes) into google, and you'll have a list of them. Just use a different site each time you need to.

There are softwares which hide your IP from websites you visit. I have tried one named Hide IP platinum. It works, but, the pages loading is slow....

If you're using a router, you can try finding the release IP function, and then the renew IP function. If not, run the command prompt, and type this (Note: The stuff enclosed in the <> is an instruction, not something to type.):

    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /renew

    Hope this helps!

Might have to change the MAC on the router also for this to work. Otherwise it will renew the same IP it had before. Use macshift to generate a random MAC and in the router choose clone PC MAC if available. The router will now have a new MAC and the /renew should use a new IP.

Client: Shift the MAC, Router: clone new MAC, Router: renew IP
