Default My monitor displays "No signal" when I turn my computer on?

The initial screens begin as usual, but when Windows starts up, the screen goes blank and the monitor displays "No signal". I've just moved house and I'm worried that something has been damaged or moved when the computer was being transported. The monitor is obviously working and I've checked the connections quite a few times now.

Have you changed the resolution in the Windows XP properties? Some monitors responds so, when the resolution or input frequency is out of the range, which the monitor cannot handle. Check trying the monitor in the VGA mode of Windows XP, by selecting VGA mode from the boot options which you get by pressing F8 during start up.
