 Its not just Linux; its GNU/Linux Everyone is using the name Linux to refer the popular free Operating System. But what is the role of Linux in it? Its just the Kernal used by the Operating System. All other features and softwares are part of the GNU project. By using the name Linux to specify the free software operating system, you are not giving the importance to the group of programmers who worked behind the GNU project. So, better you try to call it GNU/Linux Operating System. The original kernal for the GNU project name HURD is not yet complete due to its complicated micro-kernal architecture.
