I use FireFTP. Plug-in for FireFox.

CoreFTP cuts off for large files. It just won't get it done. And I can't get it to do more then 30 files at a time (one by one. But inserting it to be done. e.g. Drag and drop lots of php files in a folder)

i also think that cuteftp would be the right shot for any webmaster because of its speed & durability. One of the best functions that i like is multitasking on a single window in cuteftp.

if you need to read more about it - Cute FTP Professional - Reviews and free Cute FTP Professional downloads at Download.com

I'm using SmartFTP now and I think its not bad overall... But a problem I have is that my internet connection is not very stable, so once I disconnect, my file transfer will stop and it won't continue where it previously left off, so its quite troublesome for me....

I'll give FireFTP a try.

Is it just me, or is it normal for a FTP program to fail when you try to upload big files (or a big amount of them). I can't seems to get files of +40 mb uploaded.

No that's definitely not normal. The whole idea of FTP is to transfer large files, so it's no good if it can't!

Most, if not all clients should have a resume feature. SmartFTP has this, but I think that the cache clearing interval has to be changed for it to work.

So.. that's means I've got to change some settings? Both CoreFTP as FireFTP give me the message: "opperation timed-out" after some time. Doesn't even have to be one big file, just a bunch of files. It's more time based actually.

I like FUSE, because it allows you to handle your ftp share like a folder on your harddisk, so you can easily access your ftp share with any application you like, picture editor, web editor. All the stuff is down in your temporary space and then directly uploaded to your ftp account. You do not have to handle with any problems, FUSE starts during boot up and then you got your folder icon and everything you place inside is directly uploaded.

For sure this technology requires a fast internet connection and is not recommended for dial-up users.

Since no one has mentioned FlashFXP, well, there!
This FlashFXP program is the BEST, it is simple to use, no virus found, and ect! It has a very fast speed of transferring files, and all the buttons are just real simple!
FlashFXP by iniCom Networks for more information. It is a 30 days trial, and unless your willing to spend $$$ on it, well, ok..But you may also find the full version of flashfxp here: CrackzPlanet.com - FlashFXP v3.4.0 Build 1145 Final

Good luck!

as of now i am using the portable edition of fillezilla, it's an FTP software made by mozilla. i simply love this FTP because its simple to us plus it has its professional looking software. With its detailed information on what's happening on your session right now, users may able to know what is currently happening.

I like using smart ftp because it is free.

I have used coreftp I think a while ago and didn't mind it.

Smart ftp is a great free program except for having to click ok on a licence agreement each time it is run and having to download the newer builds when I don't really need them.

An autoresume would be nice to use in it except I normally just drag and drop directly as the autoresume requires more clicking so generally gets the flick.

I have tried WS Ftp and it is free for personal use. Looks a bit like a 95 or 98 program though.

Will give fireftp a go as I love ff so much more than ie.
