Post Why GMail is Different Than Other eMail Services

Many people who use GMail find some of it's features different and unable to understand it. May be because they have old traditional eMail accessing habit. You don't find Folders (To Move an eMail from inbox to a specific folder) option, instead GMail uses Labels. GMail uses Archive to simply remove and not delete an eMail from Inbox. To make labelling automatic that sorts your incoming messages, you can use Filters in GMail. gravi_t, explains all the features in a great manner, that make Gmail different.

I use Microsoft's hotmail service for my daily 'rubish' and to be honest, it's crappy. Well, good for something that's just via a website, but actual computer applications would beat it any day.

I've got Outlook, but I've got no idea how to set up profiles and get my hotmail, gmail and profusehost accounts to work with it.

Used Gmail for a very, very short time though. Didn't like it in the days.

G-Mail has no ads which are added to the mails we send and they provide POP. I can also redirect my domains MX records to google and use their features under my domain name using google apps. That's why I prefer google.

I've got Outlook, but I've got no idea how to set up profiles and get my hotmail, gmail and profusehost accounts to work with it.
I use Thunderbird instead of Outlook. Here is how to configure G-Mail in Thunderbird.

How is Thunderbird compared to Outlook? Since I already have the full Office suite, I might as well actually use it. Unless Thunderbird is significantly better.

i used msn for 5 damn years and when i found gmail i said 'offff'. i was relieved.msn is so much slow and it reload thepage in every action like delete, mark as spam etc. but gmail reloads the page so rarely.most of the features are useable without page refresh. gmail isso nice to use with outlook express and ms outlook. i prefer cause outlook ex is faster than ms outlook. with this combination i am using google smoothly.msn hotmail is a fallen star. i'm waiting for it's death.

I enjoy the gmail features. Why you delete a mail if you have 7 GB of space in the server for you..

I use both gmail and hotmail and they both have nice features. I use hotmail for the majority of random mail because I like being able to organize things neatly into folders that I can look through later.

I like gmail because I like how it keeps track of one back-and-forth conversation all together in one thread. So I use it for personal emails.
