Australia's troops aghast at Dutch food - Yahoo! Canada News
Apparently Australian soldiers serving in Afganistan are upset with the food they are being served, because it is prepared by Dutch cooks. What's wrong with Dutch food? Now I'm curious.

It's ok. Dutch food itself is very 'meh' like, but the Dutch like a varied arange of food and usually have a general dislike for their own traditional food these days. I'd say they're pretty ok cooks.
I live in the Netherlands by the way.
Oh that's right Jace, I forgot you lived in the Netherlands. What sort of food is traditionally Dutch? I'm curious because my husband's mother was from the Netherlands. She was an excellent cook, although I don't think the things she cooked were necessarily Dutch.

Seriously, you wont like any food with which you have not grown up with. I mean I wont really live on Pizzas, burgers if I had to. I would like my plain Indian meal - chapatis, sabzi with all those spices.
Not that I don't like other cuisines, but, even being in India, I don't really like the other ways of preparing the same food.
I anything, I have got to hate the food I grew up with.. Just had enough, you know.. I like to constantly have something different. Unfortunately, there's just so much variety one can have...
Typical Dutch food: Basically just potatoes mashed with some fruit. Nothing special at all.
But then I don't even know anyone that still eats that..
