Default sony discontinues the 20 gb model of ps3

Sony has decided to stop making the cheaper version of playstation 3. Originally, sony released two version of ps3 - $499 and $599 version. The $499 version offer 20 Gb and the $599 version offers 60 GB HDD, memory card reader and wi-fi adapter. Sony said that customers prefer the 60 gb version instead of 20 gb. Sony is losing $60 less on the 60 GB version compared to the 20 Gb version. So, it make sense that sony is going for the version that saves them the most money and sell more ps3. I still think price of ps3 is still high compared other game consoles in the market. I personally don't own a ps3 and I am happy with just playing pc based games. I guess i'll wait for ps10 to come out and hopefully they will have games with holograms and virtual reality gaming.

I still find it humorous that they're actually losing money on each PS3 sale. Just shows that they really did try too hard, and they should've left the gaming industry to Nintendo and Microsoft. Or they should all just combine and make one big awesome super-gaming-system. That'd be sweet.

Just read this on pc world and sony is planning to come out with a bigger HD for playstation 3. Xbox is already coming out with a bigger HD and this will definitely put ps3 in direct competition with xbox. We know companies love to rip people off by raising prices for hd, accessories and let's just hope the sony doesn't go crazy when it comes to pricing the bigger HD version of ps3.

Actually people would still buy 60gb ps3 if it was $1000 because of th blue ray player.. the first blue ray player i saw that was on sale was over $1200.. just the like ps2 with the built in dvd player.. it was roughly around the same price of a dvd player when it first came out.. you are actually saving money if u buy the ps3.

    Default Playstation is great

I have owned a ps for years and only 2 years ago did we buy a ps2. They are a great machine and I hope Sony will continue to keep it up. I have not currently played the ps3 but would like to. I have a psp and they are awesome. Ps3 is currently a lttle too expensive for my liking.

To find out about anything ps3 related jump on to www.ps3.com.

Gaming consoles have come a long way from the ns64.
