Free Domain!!

I have been using Microsoft Office Live for over two years now and it is also free providing you have a credit card. Even though it is free you need to give them an active credit card. You get a free domain name with a .com address. I actually have several sites with them and their controll panel is so simple to use there probably will never be a "for dummies" book about it. I built a professional looking site within minutes. It includes detailed reports, easy ftp, a .com name, no posting required, and more. I have become hooked on the PROFUSEhost forms but in contrast to the MOL hosting which I learned in minutes I've been on PFh for 2 months and have not figured out how to put up a website yet.

@realmot, can you point out the address (URL) please?

Renewing the domain is of great concern. If we popularize the domain in one year and then if they sell them to anyone else all of it is lost. Then we will have to do all the hard work again to get the pages views which we had.

So to what type of rules are you bound when signing up? I need a domain, but I do not really trust this offer. Is there no secret trick? Nothing at all? Please tell me, cause if it's the same like buying, but then free, I would be seriously interested.

I just came across uni.cc domain name. Its free and provides DNS and MX records. That means its not like the redirection facilities like co.nr. You could park it, change the MX records and use google apps for making mail IDs and all. All of this is for free and you just need to place a small image link to uni.cc in your site.

I just asked wikipedia.com and got this:

An MX record or Mail exchanger record is a type of resource record in the Domain Name System (DNS) specifying how Internet e-mail should be routed. Each MX record contains a priority and a host name, so that the collection of MX records for a given domain name point to the servers that should receive e-mail for that domain, and their priority relative to each other.

I think so but I am not sure I do not use MX I use DNS ;-) by the way I am not snoopdog I am Snoop1990 that is different (I am not that rich and my music taste is different as well.)
