Asus brought out their EEE PC which sells for pretty cheap in the stores and even cheaper if you look online. Theres a few other low budget notebooks from HP, Sony, Acer, etc.

For suggesting you a laptop, its needed to know what you are going to do with the laptop and whether you need any specific things with it, like DVD writer, bluetooth, card reader, etc. I think, with 350$, you could get a entry level laptop(compared to the price converted to INR17500)...

You really can't get a laptop for that cheap. However, HP has some priced from $450, I think. Maybe that'd be good.

Theres a new brand of laptops called netbooks which are fairly small (screen size is average of 7"-10") and really cheap (here it's on average of AUS$300-500).

In all reality it depends on the budget that you plan to buy one on. I have seen those small laptops as well, and the do not seem bad, but if it is for gaming or such, then you'd want to get like an hp or compaq. (I don't like any other, but not sure on Acer)

    Gifting season? Cheaper? Laptops? Ahahahahaha.

Maybe for other things, but not technology. Well, maybe TV's.
