Beh... personally I think they all suck.. Always preloaded with garbage these days.
I liked it how the only way I could have known I used to have a Dell computer was (with exeption of the Dell case) the BIOS and the support section within Windows XP. These days they preload a million programs on to it, mess up IE and let the word "Dell" shout above every application. Sickening.

The others are probably the same..

I've liked Dell's XPS laptops though. Very sexy machines, especially for graphic-whores like me (Come on, SLI for a laptop, isn't that awesome )

I think there isn't much difference other than the brand names. The price is gonna high for all those listed above as the bandname is now popular. I have a Toshiba one, which is very old... with Celeron processor.

But its enough for me as I am not a gaming fan and doesn't bother graphics much. I am happy as the text editors, browsers and the compilers work fine in it along with the apache and database servers.

I also don't like the bundling up of OS with laptops. Almost all laps now comes with Windows Vista, which feels to me like good for nothing and still the user need to pay for that too...

If you have the money and want to show off, I'd say opt for AlienWare laptops. They can be found at alienware.com. They are amazing and highly stylized. You can customize them according to your needs.
If you are looking for performance and sturdiness, opt for PanaSonic ToughBook 30 - Toughbook 30 Fully-rugged Laptop details - Official Panasonic Toughbook 30
