What are the target audiences for the gaming industries?

im doing a project for college and after researching i cant seem to find specific target audiences for the gaming industry, sorted int age grous for example 18-25 etc i need to find out what the exact age groups are for the gaming industries, i understand that all games have age ratings, but all games are released for a target audience.

If anyoone could let me know what the age groups are please let me know

I'm not exactly sure what you mean.
I'm a gamer, I think I could give you a pretty good estimate.
For gaming in general I think it would be about 8/12 to about 30. But of course with many devs aiming at the mainstream (you mother and the like), one could say that the audience is pretty much changing.
