you can install both linux and winodws os in same system, but for this you must install windows os first and keep some free space which shouldnot be fat / ntfs. then install linux. both os will work and system will boot from linux.

Yeah thats right you can have both os together. If would be better if you install Windows first and then Linux. The Linux will support dual boot with Windows, since it value the freedom of user to use both the OSes. But if you are installing linux first and then windows you need to have bootable disk of GRUB and then make some minor changes and install GRUB on to your system.

Try on linux websites. Some good tutorials are stored there. There is a lot of forums where people talk on linux. Try there. It's a simple problem.

You have two options. Or possibly one, I don't know. If you have 2 hard drives in you computer, you can install one OS on each, this is known as dual booting. If you do not, you can partition your one hard drive so that it has two separate parts, and install one os on each.

Default Yes you can

You said that you have installed windows xp on your system and want to install Fedora linux. You can do it but it is required that you format at least on partition on your hardisk. If you have two partitions say C: and D: and you have installed windows on C: then you can format partion D: You don't have to partition manually, it will be asked by the installation setup of linux so it will do the job.
